January has been a month of new insights and blessings. I’ve been in touch with industry professionals, long time J.L. Rocha family members, and our entire newsletter community to determine any course corrections needed for the year. This is a long legacy that will continue growing and refining itself as years go by, our community of discerning men of style has always been a source of inspiration and motivation - a wind within our sail. As such, we asked our 2,000+ newsletter subscribers to give us their thoughts on what they would like to see as we move forward, here’s what we learned:

From the wide array of responses, we heard your individual contributions and appreciate all your ideas. We will be keeping every individual in mind as we work on crafting universally high quality styles. Below is a breakdown of our response data:
Based on this data we can determine that men are seeking lightweight leather jackets in classic colors with more adaptability in the cuff. This gives us a guiding direction for what we will prioritize. When reviewing lightweight leathers, in order of weight and quality we would organize leather in this way: cowhide, buffalo, horsehide calfskin, deerskin, goatskin, lambskin and pigskin.
We typically make our jackets from lambskin, as lambskin leather is ideal for lighterweight jackets. All our leathers are top grain or whole grain depending on the style.
When it comes to the sleeve construction, we can use a wider pattern to make additional room - but altering the cuffs on our sleeves will be a challenging endeavor. In order to make the sleeves easily tailored, we typically rely on a simple cuff that makes for easy personalization at your local tailor. We will be looking into all the possibilities, so we this is a welcome challenge.
We did receive a number of requests for unique colored options, but we will likely focus on delivering classic styles in colors that easily translate into your collection with simple nuances that make each product unique. When it comes to styling, we received the most requests for a new reference of our Rivera Suede Flight Jacket, but we also recognized a large influx of requests for a trucker jacket, and for unique silhouettes such as a vintage flight jackets and car coats. Items we will surely explore.
What is most touching to us was the number of comments we received that said “Keep doing what you’re doing” in addition to requests for more media from our team. We genuinely appreciate the support and love our brand that you express. I can say with absolutely certainty that above all else (aside from our craftsmanship and artisans) we will be prioritizing our connection with you.
