A Great Father Chooses to be in your life
Bryan D.
A great father is someone that chooses to be in your life. Not only physically, but in everything that you become. From the way you treat others, to the type of work ethic and morals you have. He teaches you love and dedication by standing by your mother through all trials and tribulations. He teaches you skills that will be valuable in your life that will allow you to help others. A great father is a coach, a teacher, and the best friend you could ever have.
What makes my dad great is that he is actually my Step-Father, but you would never know it. He came into my life when I was only two years old and not only took on the responsibility of a raising me, but also my two older brothers. He was always willing to do what it took to make sure we had the things we needed for every day life. He would work long hours at labor intensive jobs to make sure he kept a roof over our heads and food on the table. We were never very well off, but this allowed him to teach us the value in what we had. He would show us that when something breaks, we fix it. I can confidently say he is the man responsible for everything I am and know today. I have skills and knowledge in most trades because he never shied away from a good project and was always willing to let me help and learn. You will also never find a man more devoted to his wife. He has shown me what it means to be a devoted and loving husband and father. I know that my son will grow up with strong values and skills because of the father that chose to raise me.
My dad has stood by all his children even when they made it very difficult for him. He met my mom when she already had three boys of her own, and later on they had a daughter of their own. You would never be able to tell that the boys were not his own. He has been going through a lot recently with my moms health, but he has remained her rock and has done his best to make sure her kids could be there for her, even the ones that don’t play nice. He truly is the example of what a great dad looks like.
A Great Father Makes Sacrifices
Bhargav P.
Here is what makes my dad great he was born in India and was farmer there. He worked hard to come to United States to give me and my older sister a better education and lifestyle even though he is handicapped. He worked hard to provide us with food, clothes, and housing. He could have not come to United States but he did, because he wanted us to have better life so we can become successful and get the education he could never receive. He scarified his family and friends in India for us which what makes my dad great.
Qualities I’ve learned that make a great father are that often dads don’t show there affection to their kids because they are trying to prepare them for life. A dad is someone who doesn’t show his support but is always behind you to catch you every time you fall. Dads sacrifice a lot for their kids. They are as important as mothers are.
A Good Dad Shows Up
Josh B.
I guess it’s the mystery. I never really met him, so there’s plenty of room where imagination can takes it’s place.
I think the ability to show up, no matter the event or it’s importance. Beyond that, it’s in showing all that you’ve learned, in a way that is meant to assist rather than expecting it to been done that way. Lastly, is to show love in who will carry on a part of who you are. Love, educate, and be there. 3 rules to live by as a dad.
