When the midnight collection was crafted, we set out to accomplish a unique series of creations focused on details and ingenuity. However, to some observers, the details and craftsmanship of this collection can be overshadowed by the gorgeous look of our vegtanned midnight blue lambskin leather. This post serves as our reflection on some of our favorite details present in the J.L. Rocha: Midnight Collection.

Details we love:
Our midnight jackets represent a deep connection to the history of Mexico and coastal regions, beaches and towns that have remained hidden and private for understate luxe enjoyment. This same spirit is present across all our midnight blue products. While this post will not focus on our midnight blue coloring, it is important to note that one of our favorite details of these pieces, is that the organic mixture of petrol blue and black can never be re-created the same way on any of our pieces. This is because of the hands ombré featuring we create when we combine these colors.

The focus of family history.
All are midnight blue products contain the same custom leather present throughout, additionally, they also bear the new and unique marking of our family crest. We set out to make this crossed our focus as we crafted these exceptional luxury goods in order to highlight our family history and the importance it has in our life. The J.L. Rocha Crest Lining:
Both are midnight Jackets and Midnight travel bags contain a unique lining exclusive to this collection. We created this new lining to highlight our family crest as a subtle homage to our history while also scrutinizing our ability to improve our lining.
Similar to our classic collection lining in brown that followed, this unique feature of a charcoal lining with our family crest will remain a distinct marker of our midnight collection.
The focus on subtlety.
Our midnight collection is easily one of our most subtle collections. The natural shades and tones create a subtlety in our coloring, but we also focused on details that will create a subtle stand out for our leather goods.

When looking for two subtle details in our classic collection, look no further than these two details we consider our favorites:
The black straps present on the body of our Isla Duffel Bag.
The Diamond Stitching on the dorsal portion of the sleeves on the Villa Asymmetrical Jacket.
These two details represent key skills of any leather artisan: both cutting and stitching. These skills require keen attention to detail and focus during the creation of any leather good.
The focus on Individuality.
Beyond details and history, we always strive to create products that will carry the signature of the owner: that means developing an exceptional patina. The two details we love that stand for individuality in this collection are as follows:
We made all our midnight blue leather travel bags and jackets with a supple and soft lambskin that should develop amazingly over time. Our Bravo Jacket and Artisan Backpack should have natural patinas that develop the most, while allowing the petrol blue to shine through at different rates.
The addition of our J.L. Rocha signature Medallion on each travel bag began with this collection. The signature medallion calls back to our origins as a brand while serving as a unique token for each product holder.
